Prior to viewing this lesson, you could ask learners to write down a list of all the different adverts they see in a typical day. Their list could then be compared to the scenario in this lesson and learners may discover that they are exposed to more adverts than they initially realised. Various basic advertising terms such as ‘intention’, ‘medium’, and ‘target market’ are defined and these are used throughout the series. How these terms apply to a specific campaign is also explored.
