These lessons tackle the more precise way of determining the reactivity of metals – namely, that a more reactive solid metal can displace a less reactive metal ion from its solution. The experimentation is complicated and can be confusing. For this reason the topic is split over two lessons. Encourage learners to draw up tables with heading that are related to what is being tested. Stop the video and let learners draw up the tables before continuing with each experiment. Make sure that the pace of the video is appropriate for the learners. If not , stop the video regularly to explain what is happening. It may be useful to use extra class time to explain this concept. This can be done either before showing the two videos or afterwards.
